Campaign dedicated to electing Christopher G. Kennedy to be the next governor of Illinois. Why Chris Kennedy As a business, non-profit and civic leader, Chris has spent his entire career bringing people together to solve complicated problems for a common good. He moved to Illinois 30 years ago to fight hunger. He became a volunteer and then Chairman of the Board of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, doubling the size of its warehouse and starting the first fresh fruits and vegetables program. He ran the Merchandise Mart, one of the greatest economic engines in the city of Chicago. He served as Chairman of the Board at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and at the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau where he worked with government, labor and independent small businesses to bring back some of largest tradeshows in the United States. Today, Chris and his wife Sheila run Top Box, a food service non-profit that brings high-quality, healthy food to communities in need, and Chris is working with the AFL-CIO to develop Wolf Point, a billion-dollar development project that is a national model for energy efficiency while also creating hundreds of jobs. Chris knows how to bring people together and how to get things done. Democrats will need that type of unique experience to beat Governor Rauner and to fix the mess in Illinois.
