EarthRights International is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization that combines the power of law and the power of people in defense of earth rights. We specialize in fact-finding, legal actions against perpetrators of earth rights abuses, training grassroots and community leaders, and advocacy campaigns. Through these strategies, ERI seeks to end earth rights abuses, to provide real solutions for real people, and to promote and protect human rights and the environment in the communities where we work.
WOLA is a leading research and advocacy organization advancing human rights in the Americas.
Our Vision
WOLA envisions a future where public policies in the Americas protect human rights and recognize human dignity, and where justice overcomes violence.
Our Mission
WOLA’s mission is to advance human rights and social justice in the Americas.
Our Impact
WOLA tackles problems that transcend borders and that require both domestic and international solutions. Through strategic collaborations, we partner with courageous people working on social change—advocacy organizations, academics, religious leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and government officials—and together, we advocate for more just societies in the Americas.
International Rivers' mission is to protect rivers and defend the rights of communities that depend on them.
Together with our global partners, we seek a world where healthy rivers and the rights of local communities are valued and protected. We envision a world where water and energy needs are met without degrading nature or increasing poverty, and where people have the right to participate in decisions that affect their lives.
As the only international organization focusing on protecting rivers and human rights, International Rivers plays a critical and unique role in shifting the water and energy paradigm away from destructive dams and towards more sustainable options. Through research, education and advocacy we generate international awareness of the environmental, economic and social consequences of large dams, and we empower our global colleagues to participate in this effort. We provide policy analysis critiquing hydro-development and have influenced the policies of companies, governments, and financial institutions active in the dam sector.
