Kelda Dynamics Information

Kelda delivers custom-designed control system software for enhanced pressure control in drilling operations. Kelda consists of a core team with unique and complementary expertise on drilling technology, hydraulics modelling, and advanced control system design. Kelda was founded late 2013 by key personnel involved in Statoil’s research on automated managed pressure drilling (MPD). Since 2007 Hydro and Statoil have put major efforts into the development of enhanced automation technology for pressure control in drilling. This research has been based on internal competence from production optimisation and multiphase flow modelling, and collaboration with leading international expertise on applied advanced control system design. Kelda’s technology has its basis from this R&D, and has license to Statoil IPR. Kelda was established in agreement with Statoil with the objective to strengthen the development of the technology, and accelerate broad implementation.
