The Marine Conservation Society is the UK's leading marine charity working towards a cleaner, better protected and healthier ocean, for everyone 🌊 Today, our ocean is in poor health because of human activity. We’re determined to change this, working with communities, businesses and governments. For more than 30 years, we’ve been the voice of the sea, defending our coastal habitats and species. For a cleaner ocean, we find ways to prevent and clean up marine litter and pollution. And we use science to track the health of our waters. For a better-protected ocean, we secure spaces where species and habitats can recover. Only a sea full of life can absorb carbon and tackle climate change. For a healthier ocean, we promote sustainable fishing and aquaculture to minimise harm caused by harvesting and farming resources. And we educate the public so consumers can make better seafood-buying choices. Together, we can achieve our vision of seas full of life, where nature flourishes and people thrive.

Since 1971, Earthwatch has protected our shared planet, engaging people worldwide in scientific field research and education in order to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Our vision is a world in which we live within our means and in balance with nature. Our research program involves a global community of researchers, conservation volunteers, NGOs, and businesses, working together towards a sustainable environment. Earthwatch supports about 60 projects across nearly 40 countries, and draws $20 million in annual revenues, with more than 85% of its budget supporting science research and engagement, and going towards programmatic support. Since 1971 Earthwatch has inspired 93,000 volunteers to join vital conservation research projects in the field, helping to make us the best environmental volunteer non-profit organization in the world. Earthwatch supports research projects in four key areas: • Ocean Health - Coastal ecosystems, marine biodiversity conservation • Wildlife & Ecosystems - Biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, sustainable forestry, freshwater • Climate Change - Adaptation, mitigation • Archaeology & Culture - Sacred landscapes, indigenous knowledge systems

We manage thousands of nature reserves and run marine conservation projects around our coasts. There are 46 Wildlife Trusts covering the UK, the Isle of Man and Alderney. Each of the 46 Wildlife Trusts is an independent charity with its own trustees.
