The law firm was an amalgamation of the practices of Kearns and Kearns and McKinnon and Clare. Charles L. McKinnon's father, Robert McKinnon, was called to the bar of the Province of Ontario in 1898 and the firm traces its history back to him. Today Kearns, McKinnon is composed of 15 lawyers, 2 articling law students, and more than 40 support staff all of whom are dedicated to the standards of excellence and integrity established by the firm's founders.
