Kayeb Information

Kayeb was created to promote a new narrative about Amazonia and its people. I want to connect local organisations with international partners and educate institutions and businesses in Europe about the diversity of my region (cultural, economic, political, and social). I want to also promote the many cosmovisions (cosmovisao) that exist in the region from indigenous and other traditional communities on climate change and their local solutions, empowering local voices with a decolonial and non-racist perspective. This is a "working in progress" space where I will share insights from someone passionate about the region and its culture. A perspective of a woman with indigenous, black and Lebanese roots, who has been working with Amazonian communities for more than 15 years and wants to share her experience to dismistify many stereotypes about the region and its communities, including those living in the urban forest.
