Founded in 1895, Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization in the world with more than 360,000 initiates and 181 collegiate chapters. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® is comprised of more than 390,000 initiated members in more than 1122 graduate and undergraduate chapters located in multiple nations and territories including the United States, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, South Korea, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and West Africa. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was founded on a mission of five basic tenets that have remained unchanged since the sorority’s inception. Our mission is -to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, -to promote unity and friendship among college women, -to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, -to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.” The organization is dedicated to fostering leadership, personal development, and lifelong commitment to community service.
