Kaplan Professional Awards Information

Kaplan Professional Awards develops qualifications in conjunction with industry stakeholders to ensure they are relevant and meet employers' needs. In the UK, Kaplan has combined 50 years of educational and learning excellence with leading on-line learning technologies, award-winning materials and of course, the industry's most experienced and successful tutors, to become a leading provider of accountancy and financial training. Offering courses in 27 locations throughout the UK, home study and online learning for thousands of students and on-site training for many of the UK's largest businesses, Kaplan is at the forefront of training development. To demonstrate this Kaplan has set up an entirely independent division, Kaplan Professional Awards (KPA), to develop and award a range of vocational qualifications that will enhance staff development. KPA has been granted approval as an awarding organisation by education regulators Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA. KPA develops qualifications in partnership with industry stakeholders to ensure they are relevant in meeting employers' needs. Once approved, these qualifications become part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), launched in 2008 to accredit vocational qualifications across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The QCF marks a key step in education and training reform by enabling organisations to develop nationally recognised qualifications tailored to meet employers' needs for enhanced workplace skills, while allowing learners to control the pace of their study by gaining qualifications flexibly over time.
