Hello, we’re Union. We’ve been sourcing, roasting, living and loving good coffee since 2001. Our mission is to provide you with the best possible cup by sourcing and selecting unique coffees and by crafting roasts that excite. Each of our coffees is hand-picked and hand-roasted in East London by our team of enthusiastic coffee experts. We source our coffee direct from farmers, who we work with long term to improve both the quality of the coffee and livelihoods.

Because if farmers can’t make a living growing coffee, they’ll stop. And right now 80% of them aren’t earning enough to do basic things like feed their families and get medical help when they’re sick. Changing the way coffee is bought and sold is the only way to guarantee the future of our daily drink – and of the people who make it. HOW WE DO IT. We put our growers first. We buy from them directly, pay them fairly, and invest in cooperatives so they get local support and training. Our growers also own shares in our business and sit on the Board – so they’ve got a direct say in how we run things and when we make a profit they do too. We respect the earth. If we want the earth to give us coffee, we can’t strip it of the things it needs to do that. So we’re working hard to use only renewable energy, we prioritise buying organic coffee, and we’re making sure 100% of our packaging can be reused, recycled, or composted. We lead the pack. We can’t guarantee the future of coffee all on our own. So we’re open about our goals, why they matter, and exactly what it takes to reach them – making it easy for other companies to follow our lead. We're best at coffee quality. We can’t help our growers if we can’t sell our coffee. So we make sure it tastes as decent as it acts. We roast coffee daily and ship directly to wholesale customers, our own coffee shops, subscribers and web shop customers. And yet, freshly roasted coffee is just a small part of the equation. We source coffee directly from the farmer for two main reasons. To guarantee we get the best green beans, and to make sure the farmer is rewarded for the high quality coffee. It is actually quite simple. For the farmer to continue to produce specialty coffee, he or she should be paid extra for the hard work. In our opinion, sustainability in coffee starts with financial sustainability for the farmers. To make a difference, we believe that we have to start with ourselves by making coffee experiences that contributes to this development. Founded in 2007, the Coffee Collective is to this day 100% owned and run by Peter N. Dupont, Casper Engel Rasmussen og Klaus Thomsen. With several competition awards in the bag, including gold in both the World Barista Championship and World Cup Tasting championships, we continue to explore exciting coffee experiences.
