Kaffeeklatsch is a social health infrastructure company for women over 50, built on a simple finding: friendship is not a luxury, it is part of what keeps us healthy. Decades of research connect social isolation to heart disease, dementia, depression, and premature death, and connect strong friendships to longer, healthier lives. For women in their later decades, where the health cost of disconnection runs highest, almost nothing has been built. She is also the woman the market overlooks. Women over 50 are the fastest-growing demographic in the developed world and hold a disproportionate share of consumer wealth, and still hardly a marketing dollar is spent on her, unless it is selling her anti-aging, while the wider culture keeps suggesting she move quietly into the background. Kaffeeklatsch is built for her from the first decision, and for no one else. The first product is an app that helps a woman meet women nearby who could become part of her real life. It has no feeds, no followers, and nothing to perform, because everything that keeps a woman scrolling works against the reason she came. Success, for us, is a woman over 50 closing the app and walking out the door to meet a neighbor for coffee. As healthcare moves toward community-based support and social prescribing, Kaffeeklatsch is built to be part of that infrastructure: the place a referral can actually lead to. We are starting in Dallas–Fort Worth, and we do not stop there.
