juwi is one of the world’s leading companies in the area of renewable energies. Since 1996, the project developer has been planning, projecting, financing and operating plants for the usage of renewable energies. Matthias Willenbacher and Fred Jung created the juwi group in 1996. They developed juwi from a two-man office to a company acting worldwide with more than 1,400 employees and a sales volume of approx. 800 Mio Euro. juwi plans and constructs solar, wind and bio energy plants as well as hydro power and geothermal projects. (Together with a highly motivated team, Willenbacher and Jung pursue the goal of a 100% renewable energy supply). juwi is among a few companies offering comprehensive, renewable energy solutions - for municipalities, businesses and individuals. For its commitment, juwi has been awarded with the German Solar Price in 2007, the German Climate Protection Price in 2008, and the Clean Tech Media Award in 2009 and has been named Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 and Greentech Manager of the Year 2009. In 2010 and 2011, juwi was among the TOP 50 in the competition “Great Place to Work”. In July 2008, juwi opened one of the world’s most energy-efficient office buildings in Wörrstadt, Germany. On an area of more than 17,000 square meters, it offers ideal working conditions with outdoor facilities for sport and relaxation, a day-care center or a gym. juwi headquarters will be extended for the third time in 2012.
