In 2006, founder Chris Bahr travelled on a medical mission to the Philippines. While in the Province of Pampanga, Chris noticed that the local schools needed school supplies. Armed with 1000 Pesos ($25) in hand, Chris went to the local market and bought every pencil, eraser and sharpener he could find and delivered them to the schoolchildren.
