Créée en 1946, la Fédération Française de Judo, Jujitsu, Kendo et Disciplines Associées est une association sportive de loi 1901 qui a pour but de promouvoir la pratique du Judo et de ses disciplines associées composées du Jujitsu, Kendo, Iaïdo, Sport chanbara, Jodo, Naginata, Kyudo, Sumo et Taïso. Le Judo possède son propre Code Moral, dont l'objectif est d'appliquer les valeurs apprises sur le tatami dans la vie de tous les jours. Le Judo est une école de vie intergénérationnelle. Elle compte aujourd’hui plus de 525 000 licenciés répartis dans 5 300 clubs affilié et 111 Organismes Territoriaux Délégataires. Forte de 6 000 enseignants diplômés d’état, 150 conseillers techniques et fédéraux, et 26 000 dirigeants bénévoles, la FFJudo organise plus de 4 000 animations et compétitions du niveau départemental, national et international. Pour préparer l’avenir, la FFJudo réunit au sein d’un même secteur toutes les formations : dirigeants, cadres techniques, enseignants, arbitres, commissaires sportifs et athlètes de haut niveau. Ceci afin de répondre aux exigences de service et de qualité de pratique dans les clubs pour tous les licenciés.

The British Judo Association is the recognised National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of judo in Great Britain. British Judo is a membership organisation and delivers judo through its network of clubs and qualified coaches across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. There are just under 900 British Judo Association Clubs in Great Britain. The Association is a member of the International Judo Federation, European Judo Union, British Olympic Association, Commonwealth Judo Association and Commonwealth Games Council. The Association has the responsibility of developing and governing the sport at all levels from grass roots to Olympic level competition. Its remit includes governance, coaching, events, technical, welfare and the promotion of the sport. The Association has 42 employees and is based in Walsall. The British Judo Olympic and Paralympic National Training Centre is based at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus.

The European Judo Union (EJU), was founded on on 28th July 1948 in London. It is one of the five Continental Unions forming the International Judo Federation (IJF). It is a non-political and a non-profit organisation that represents one of the five continental unions inside the International Judo Federation (IJF). The EJU is composed of 51 national judo federations or associations officially recognized through their National Olympic Committees. As a continental union it is in charge of implementing the policies of the IJF and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Europe. Judo was created in 1882 by Professor Jigoro Kano. As an educational method derived from the martial arts, judo became an official Olympic sport in 1964. Judo is a highly codified sport in which the mind controls the expression of the body and is a sport which contributes to educating individuals. Beyond competitions and combat, judo involves technical research, practice of Kata, self-defence work, physical preparation, sharpening of spirit. Judo is the way of the highest or most efficient use of both physical and mental energy. Through training in the attack and defence techniques of judo, the practitioner nurtures their physical and mental strength, and gradually embodies the essence of the Way of Judo. Thus, the ultimate objective of Judo discipline is to be utilized as a means to self-perfection, and thenceforth to make a positive contribution to society. As a discipline derived from ancestral traditions, judo was designed by its Master Founder as an eminently modern and progressive activity. Administration (Offices in Vienna, Moscow and Malta) The affairs of the EJU are run from the EJU administrative Head Office or Bureau at the body's headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The Head Office is responsible for the organisation, management and direction of the administration. The EJU President maintains a Presidential Office currently located in Moscow, Russia.
