Entropy is owned and operated by Deborah Latouf. She has a PhD in motor development and has spent most of her career working as a sports scientist at the Australian Institute of Sport, as well as five years overseas in the UK and South Africa. This background in sport was the major reason why Entropy came to be. The focus is on quality toys and products to engage mind and body so that children get out from behind their TV screens and computer games and go and play. You can see Deb's influence come through in the product selections, especially with regard to motor skills and sports and activity selections. Despite the growth in the business, Deborah still works very much 'hands on'. The mother-of-two has been recognised by her peers in business, winning the Bendigo Bank North Queensland Emerging Business Woman of the Year in 2009 and the North Queensland Female Business Owner Award and overall North Queensland Business Woman of the Year in 2012. Deborah also claimed the Australian Institute of Management's Townsville Owner Manager of the Year Award in September 2012.
