JoyScore is a new innovative app designed to increase joy, reduce stress and enhance well-being. The original intention of Professor Singhal: to teach design and architecture and to help students excel as designers. Excel might be the key word here. He realized that to be successful in design, one must be joyful and think from the right-side of the brain. This hemisphere is associated with creativity. Mr. Singhal would encourage joyfulness in his classes, sometimes suggesting students take a break and return when they are in a better mood to foster creativity. Scoring happened very early for the professor. In researching what makes people joyful, the professor developed ideas used in his book: About Joy, Health, and Happiness. After writing the book, Professor Singhal felt there was a need for a way to score joyfulness, similar to how sports coaches track performance. The idea evolved into creating an app called JoyScore, which allows users to score themselves on joyfulness and see how they can improve. The app aims to help millions of people by providing a tangible way to measure and improve their joy. JoyScore is organized into an array of areas to help users focus on things they want to improve. Now named Professor Joy, his inspiration for the book and the app came from a desire to help more people than he could just through teaching or writing. JoyScore.
