Science not only provides resources for the advancement of society but the resources to threaten its security and question is morality. In a world where the possibility of intellectual discoveries are accompanied by the turmoil of social destruction, the pursuit of science can no longer be viewed as a purely intellectual pursuit but as a shaping factor of society itself. These issues are the driving force behind the creation of the Journal of Science and Society and its sister on-line journal, ScienceImpact.com. Teamed together, they will address the role of science in society and present discussion on the ethics and controversies behind technology and scientific contributions. ScienceImpact.com will present an on-line journal informing its readers of recent science discoveries as well as addressing how past discoveries have shaped society.
