The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, or JOHUD, was established by Royal Decree in 1977, as an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organisation, to serve the needs of vulnerable local communities. With its rapidly expanding geographical and social outreach across Jordan, and its pioneering approach to people-centred development, JOHUD has come to represent a unique model for local governance and civil engagement in sustainable human development. JOHUD aims to continue strengthening its comprehensive and multidisciplinary system that enhances community well-being, while addressing key challenges related to social exclusion, poverty, and vulnerability.
