Established in 2005. Unique blend of Cafe and working Art Studio. You can come in and enjoy a locally roasted coffee, in house baked goods and fresh made from scratch soups and salads. All this while creating you own one of a kind ceramic or fused glass art piece. Become part of the conversation with our regular group of characters or create your own niche. You can find many activities going on at the same time. Moms meeting after dropping kids off to school, local retirees sharing the time with the next generation, students doing home work, local groups meeting. Johnny Picasso's is a "Local Gathering Place" for the use of the community. Its inspired, grown, nourished and loved by those that become part of it. Johnny Picasso's was started by John and Trish Archibald shortly after they moved to Anacortes. John was raised by a single mother with 11 siblings. 8 brothers and 3 sisters. He has always been a part of something bigger that himself and realized how important it was to support each other. John transferred from California to Anacortes while working for Starbucks in pursuit of a corporate career. After arriving in Anacortes and falling in love with the community and Fidalgo Island he was sure this was home for him. He gave up the corporate career path and decided to start his own business. That's when he and his wife came across a small do it yourself pottery that was for sale. Johns Mom was an artist and John grew up with art in his life from as far back has he could remember. They wanted to create a space that the community could come to and share time together, make new friends and grow the community. John and Trish decided to incorporate art and coffee and start Johnny Picasso'
