The John T. Petters Foundation was established in March 2004 after Miami University Junior John Thomas Petters was killed while on spring break in Florence Italy. John was a dynamic young man from Edina Minnesota who loved to travel the world and had a keen business mind as co-founder and president of the Miami Investment club. Before John passed he expressed an interest in helping college students get more from their education which is why his life will forever be celebrated through scholarships awarded to passionate students like him to study abroad.
