John Healey, MP for Wentworth, visited a Wath dental practice on Friday to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the practice. The Dental Surgery, Barnsley Road, Wath-upon-Dearne is run by husband and wife team, Simon and Clare Hall and has been providing a 100% NHS practice for 20 years. The practice was awarded membership of the British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme in 2007 and was one of the first practices in Rotherham to achieve the award. On Friday staff and patients celebrated with a visit from John Healey MP and Alan Tolhurst, Chairman of Rotherham Primary Care Trust, to mark their anniversary. Mr Healey saids: "The NHS is built on the commitment of professionals like Simon and Clare and people value in particular these dentists who are loyal to the NHS and offer NHS dental services. This is a very welcome chance to thank them for 20 years' service and pay tribute to all they have done for generations of dental patients in the Wath area." Simon Hall, said: "Our practice is entirely NHS and we have enjoyed treating the people of Wath and surrounding area for the past twenty years. We pride ourselves on a very low staff turnover and a personal approach, which we believe has been the key to our success. We have treated grandchildren and in some cases great-grand children of some of our early patients. "We hope to carry on delivering quality NHS care for as long as possible and look forward to working with Rotherham Primary Care Trust to achieve this aim." Andy Buck, Chief Executive of Rotherham Primary Care Trust, said: "Twenty years of providing purely NHS dental treatment is an exceptional achievement and I would like to personally thank Simon and Clare for their dedication to NHS dentistry and wish them well for many years to come." The practice provides NHS dental services to over 4,000 patients in the Wath and surrounding area.
