Jim Paulson Excavating, Inc. is a third generation family owned company that provides building demolition, site preparation and utility installation services in the Portland Metro area. As a young man in his late teens, Jim learned the ropes in the construction industry from his father, Jim Sr. After returning home from Vietnam, Jim decided it was time to start up on his own. In 1975, Jim founded Jim Paulson Excavating, using the business name that his father was so proud of. Jim Sr. came on as one of the new company's first employees. Jim's oldest son, James, joined the company in 1994. We pride ourselves in performing quality work, insisting on being accurate and providing a clean, safe worksite. After all, it's our name on the door. With 60 years combined experience, the team can visualize various aspects of the project. That combined with knowledge about other related trades allows us to look ahead to spot possible challenges.
