Jennings H. Mitchell and Son, Incorporated maintains its reputation for excellence in client satisfaction and craftsmanship for over three quarters of a century. Originally founded in 1929, by Jennings H. Mitchell, Sr. and Norman E. Moxley, the company first specialized in the art of plain and ornamental plaster and stucco finishes. In 1934, Mr. Mitchell assumed sole management and continued to establish its reputation for high quality craftsmanship in exterior and interior finishes until his sudden death in 1954. One of his sons, Jennings H. Mitchell, Jr., replaced his father as the president and incorporated the business. At the same time, the company diversified into other construction related fields such as drywall, acoustical ceilings, steel studs, insulation, fireproofing, demountable partitions, exterior framing and finishes. Sixty-three years after its inception, the leadership of Jennings H. Mitchell and Son, Inc. was passed to vice president Bion Mitchell, upon the retirement of his older brother, Jennings, in 1992. Today the company continues to thrive into the new millennium maintaining its reputation for craftsmanship and leadership in the competitive field of commercial construction. The Building Congress and Exchange of Baltimore, as well as the Building Congress and Exchange of Washington, and the Associated Builders and Contractors have recognized and honored the company.
