Josephine Butler JCR is a community of students which sits outside of their academic commitments. We aim to be accessible, environmentally focused and to be part of Durham city’s wider community. We are the Junior Common Room of Josephine Bulter College. This term is broad and ecompasses a lot of things because we do many things here at Butler! The unique thing about Butler is that all of our events, and all of our sports, societies, and committees are run by students, for students, through the JCR. The JCR itself is led by the President and the team of 15 executive officers, all of whom are elected into their positions along with many student volunteers who oversee various parts of the common room.
