Jamie has made a name for himself in the Los Angeles World Music Scene as a passionate percussionist of ethnic hand drum styles of the Middle East, Iran, North Africa, Eastern Europe & the Balkans specializing in Doumbek, Riq (Arabic Tambourine), Frame Drums, Cajon, Udu Drum and Turkish Davul (Marching Bass Drum). He maintains an active performance and recording schedule as a member of the critically acclaimed Yuval Ron Ensemble as well as various other Los Angeles based world music and percussion ensembles. He is currently in residency at Disney California Adventure with the Stefani Valadez Ensemble and The iST/West Ensemble aka TurkFlamenco. Jamie has performed at such notable venues as the Ford Amphitheater, Skirball Cultural Center, Getty Museum, Zipper Hall, San Diego's Museum of Modern Art, USC, UCLA, Houston's Rothko Chapel, Yale University, Museum of Jewish Heritage-NYC and Symphony Hall-Seattle and has performed internationally in Poland, South Korea, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Spain, Morocco and Turkey. He has numerous recording credits including 'Floodplain' by The Kronos Quartet; Yuval Ron Ensemble's 'Under the Olive Tree', 'Tree of Life' and 'Seeker of Truth'; Heyraneh's 'Promise to Freedom' and 'Prayers on Tanbour' ; and short film Academy Award winning 'West Bank Story' composed by Yuval Ron.
