The story of Jagtar’s brand and success is attributed to its deep heritage and history. The in-house brand of JAGTAR descended from the Insaf family who grew in their specialty as textile traders from British India. They first visited Siam (Now called the Kingdom of Thailand) after a journey from Burma to Malaysia in 1902. After traveling and trading between British India and Siam, they settled permanently in Thailand and established themselves into the colorful world of textiles and Thai Silks. Rak Singhsachathet, the third generation family member, continued the legacy and honored his father’s name to create the JAGTAR Brand in 1985. He worked with teams of hand weaving units and Thai artisans in the North East of Thailand to supply wonderful fabrics for the brand. With further inspiration from American stylist Ralph Webb, JAGTAR established itself as a fabric Editor in 1990. JAGTAR now stands proudly as a silk home accessories retailer.
