J-PARCは、先端技術を有する研究機関や企業が集まる茨城県北部の東海村のJAEA原子力科学研究所の敷地の中に位置しています。リニアック・RCS・MRの3つの加速器から成る加速器施設と、物質・生命科学実験施設、ニュートリノ実験施設、ハドロン実験施設の3つの実験施設を運用しており、国内だけでなく海外からも多くの研究者を迎えています。J-PARCは、学術界や産業界からのユーザーとともに基礎科学から産業応用まで多様な研究・開発を推進しています。 J-PARC is located in the site of Nuclear Science Research Institute of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) at Tokai village in the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, where laboratories and companies with advanced technology are gathered. J-PARC operates three accelerators (Linac, RCS, and MR) and three cutting-edge experimental facilities (Materials and LifeScience Experimental Facility, Neutrino Experimental Facility, and HadronExperimental Facility), and attracts many scientists not only from Japan but also from abroad. A variety of research and development activities are being conducted at J-PARC with users from academia and industry, ranging from basic science to industrial applications.
