While working for a major defence research system integrator in the UK, We became frustrated at the lack of understanding and fore thought of suppliers claiming to provide military spec equipment. On developing and design systems for the military domain, we became both designer and responsible for creating procurement specifications for sub-subsystems. It was embarking on this role that it became clear that there are many difficulties in procuring quality equipment to meet stringent requirements. Almost all suppliers of equipment which involved a deviation from the norm such as military display units, pan and tilt units, lighting and camera units etc, which were bought as ‘modified off the shelf’ solutions, never really met the requirements. Shortly after this period, JCES was set-up with a broad network of proven mechanical, electrical, system and software engineers with the right mindset and experience to develop any military / security system. JCES was founded as an Engineering Design Consultancy and has achieved year on year growth and been involved in numerous successful projects.
