Inspired by the challenges our world faces through a dependence on fossil fuels, John Flanagan–Founder and CEO of Itek Energy–envisioned providing the world with a clean energy alternative by investing in a solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility. Itek now has over 80 employees, and is building over 2 MW per month. At the end of 2015, Itek Energy built and shipped over 44 MW of clean, renewable energy–enough to power over 4,250 homes. Itek’s flagship facility is located 90 minutes north of Seattle in Bellingham, Washington, with a second facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Itek is proud to provide the world with high-quality, assembled-in-America solar modules. Itek’s experienced engineers, operators, and management team share John’s passion for solar energy and are dedicated to making a positive impact at a local, national, and global level. Itek uses only the highest quality components in the industry, and is dedicated to environmental stewardship, strengthening communities, and growing a green economy by creating U.S. jobs. Itek manufactures the only Declare-labeled solar panel in the market, and partners with Sustainable Connections in their Toward Zero Waste program. Other projects include: - Donating panels to the Bellingham Food Bank to offset operating costs and feed more local families - Donating a system to Twende Solar to be installed at the Maya Jaguar School in Guatemala - Providing 70 Itek Energy solar modules to power Habitat for Humanity homes in Kitsap County - Donating panels to WSU students building an off-grid house for the the Solar Decathlon - Assisting in the development of the local community college’s two-year engineering degree program - Mentoring local high school students building solar-powered cars Itek solar modules already power two Living Future Certified Net Zero Homes in the Pacific Northwest.
