Istri was founded in 1994 by Denis Moran, a French national with 20 years experience in the micro-computer industry, both in Europe and the USA. Moran believes that software companies must enter foreign markets as early as possible to secure their leadership. Success in foreign markets and particularly in France is dependent on a strong local presence. Such presence can either be achieved through wholly-owned subsidiaries at a very high cost and long return on investment, or at a lower, more affordable cost, through a Value-added distributor such as Istri able to promote, sell and support the products as if they were its own.
