Islamic Academy of Huntsville Information

The Islamic Academy of Huntsville (IAH) is a religious, non-sectarian PS-8 school, SACS-CASI accredited from the 1 st -8 th grade. We seek a qualified School Principal, starting from the 2016/2017 academic year. The IAH is located in Huntsville, AL and serves the community in the North Alabama and southern Tennessee region. IAH aims to provide a quality education while nurturing our students with small class sizes and a low student-teacher ratio, graduating students who are academically successful while being good citizens who embody our shared Islamic values of kindness, caring, generosity, piety, and righteousness. The IAH Principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe and productive Islamic learning environment that meets the approved State curricula, vision, mission, and values of the school. The Principal is responsible for achieving academic excellence and character building through collaborative leadership, along with monitoring scheduling, curriculum development, standardized testing, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations. The Principal is also responsible for the professional development of the school's teachers and staff. The Principal is expected to be responsible for developing, managing, setting school goals, and executing annual school budgets and generating recurring financial and educational reports. Consequently he or she should be able to use financial software packages, such as QuickBooks. The Principal should be able to lead IAH in grant writing and identifying alternate funding sources. The Principal reports directly to the IAH Board.
