Isla Internships Abroad Information

Isla provides internships abroad for intrepid humanitarians, social entrepreneurs, and change-makers to work side-by-side with the most dedicated community development leaders in our partner communities. Currently, Isla is placing interns in Bulgaria, Kosovo, India, and Uganda. Isla Internships build upon the organizational capacity-building work of our local partner organizations in developing countries by placing university undergraduates, graduate students, and entry-level professionals in career-launching global development internships. Isla immerses participants in substantive projects with non-governmental organizations, social enterprises, and other institutions working in one or more of the following sectors or career fields: Agriculture & Agribusiness Arts, Culture, Film, Art House & Social Impact Business Management, Finance, and Marketing Communications and Public Relations Climate Change & Energy Democracy, Politics & Governance Education - Elementary, Middle, Secondary Entrepreneurship & Social Enterprise Development Environmental & Wildlife Conservation Fundraising & Grant Writing Gender Global Public Health & Medical Higher Education Student Affairs History and the Oral Tradition Hospitality and Tourism Human Rights and Social Justice Information Technology International Film and Music Festivals International Relations Journalism & Communications Makerspace Learning Environment Public Relations & Communications Women and Youth Development Work Force Development and Career Guidance Isla participants gain on-the-job training and improve their skills while helping their host organization's capacity to serve their beneficiaries and communities and improve operations and outcomes. Placing talented people inside purposeful partner organizations, Isla hopes to create opportunities for greater global understanding, cooperation, and community service.
