IRONSMITH, based in Palm Desert, California, has been a leading supplier of solutions for incorporating trees, drainage and security in public hardscapes for over 35 years. Their broad line of pedestrian friendly and market proven tree grate and trench grate systems are complimented by a strong team of design and manufacturing professionals who can take the designer’s custom ideas for these architectural elements and turn them into a reality. Republic Square in Austin Texas is one such custom project. Here a historic tree was honored and protected and became the focal point of a public gathering space. Providing some of the largest tree planting options (link to large grates), IRONSMITH offers all shapes, sizes and styles, including a unit paver surface solution utilizing the patented Paver-Grate® system. Paver-Grate® can buy space for narrow sidewalks or open up spaces such as Phoenix Civic Plaza or Tempe Transportation Center pictured here.
