Con sede en Madrid, OMIE es el NEMO (Nominated Electricity Market Operator) Ibérico. Gestionamos de manera integrada los mercados de electricidad (diarios e intradiarios) para toda la Península Ibérica a través de una plataforma electrónica y nuestro modelo de funcionamiento es el mismo que el de otros mercados europeos.
OMIE también realiza la facturación y la liquidación de la energía comprada y vendida en los citados mercados, así como la elaboración de las liquidaciones económicas correspondientes.

OMI-Polo Español S.A. (OMIE) es una empresa regulada por el Convenio Internacional de Santiago, relativo a la constitución de un mercado ibérico de la energía eléctrica (MIBEL) entre el Reino de España y la República de Portugal, y sujeta a la regulación sectorial eléctrica en España.
OMIE está participada al 50% por la sociedad española OMEL y por la sociedad portuguesa OMIP.
Headquartered in Madrid, OMIE manages the power markets (day-ahead and intraday) of the Iberian Peninsula through an electronic platform, and its operating model is the same as the one applied by other European markets.
OMIE also carries out the invoicing and settlement of the energy traded on these markets, as well as overseeing the corresponding financial settlements.

The company OMI-Polo Español S.A. (OMIE) is regulated by the Santiago International Agreement, regarding the implementation of an Iberian electricity market (MIBEL) between the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Portugal, and subject to the rules and regulations governing Spain’s electricity sector.
Half of OMIE’s stock is owned by the Spanish company OMEL, with the other half held by the Portuguese company OMIP.
