iReprogram has created a biocomputational toolbox for cell reprogramming and differentiation with support from the US DoD, the University of Michigan, and commercial collaborators. The platform has a broad range of applications and market opportunities relating to cell-based therapies and transplantation. Use of our technology will greatly accelerate discovery of methods for generating cell therapeutics. Top candidate genes and conditions can be identified for generating any specific cell type from a patient sample, thereby eliminating costly screening or trial-and-error approaches. We have constructed a unique platform that integrates basic biology and engineering principles to guide control of cell identity. Prototype technology and the patent originated in the Rajapakse lab at the University of Michigan, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals:
