IPBES i Danmark Information

IPBES in Denmark was established in 2016 as a part of the international IPBES (Intergovernmental Sciece-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) network consisting of 147 nations, including Denmark. The purpose of IPBES is to enhance the connection between research and policy regarding biodiversity and ecosystem services. Our purpose is to help anchor IPBES' knowledge and resources in the Danish scientific communities and politics. IPBES operates in an interdisciplinary context and involves researchers from a wide range of academic fields. From the Danish office, we strive to ensure that the knowledge generated by IPBES, including the global Assessments Reports based on the requests from the member countries, is conveyed to Danish decision makers once the conclusions have been approved. Finally, we share news and insights regarding IPBES’ activities and work results with local decision makers, our research communities, and the general Danish public. Follow for news on research, politics, and development related to IPBES' global work on science-policy, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. --- The Danish IPBES office is funded in a collaboration between departments at Danish universities, including Aarhus University, Aalborg University, Copenhagen Business School, Technical University of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, and University of Southern Denmark. I addition, the Danish Ministry of Environment serves as the government's point of contact for the steering committee of IPBES in Denmark.
