IPAC-CO2 Research Inc., the International Performance Assessment Centre for Geologic Storage of Carbon Dioxide (IPAC-CO2), was founded in 2008 by the Government of Saskatchewan (through Crown Investments Corporation), by Royal Dutch Shell (through Shell Canada Energy) and by the University of Regina as a non-profit research organization with a mandate to specialize in all aspects of the geologic storage component of the full CCS value chain. The intent of these founding partners was to expand on the already considerable CCS knowledge that had been developed at the University of Regina over two decades, and to advance further economic development opportunities for the province of Saskatchewan. Since then, IPAC-CO2 has carved out for itself a national and international reputation for quality research and the superior delivery of services to clients related to the geologic storage of CO2.
