iONA Pharmacy is a Ghanaian pharmaceutical product importer of effective medicines such as Impresser Capsules and Oil, HP cough and Pylin Capsules. The focus of the company in the past had been on retail operations. The company was later taken over by its new owners who focused on marketing products nationally and internationally and pushing the wholesale operations as against retail. The takeover was a significant step in terms of the growth process of the company. New capital was invested which include the acquisition of a prime and central location around Tudu and close to the Central Business District of Accra, introduction of a new board and management and the development of new strategic direction for the company. Starting with only a handful of customers, the 5 years of operation have yielded over 1,200 individual customers with an 80% reorder rate. The decision to redirect and focus some resources on the wholesale line follows incessant demands by customers who are into the retail of pharmaceutical products.
