The mission of IMAA is to help families and communities overcome poverty through the integration of education, health, and micro-industries. IMAA believes that poverty is more than just not having enough money. It is a multi-dimensional problem that requires multi-dimensional intervention to address the following five components of poverty: 1. Poverty in education 2. Poverty in knowledge and skill 3. Poverty in social capital 4. Poverty in physical health 5. Poverty in spiritual well-being Since these components are interdependent and closely linked, IMAA believes that interventions must be integrated in order to achieve sustainable poverty reduction, whether in a community, a family, or an individual. IMAA’s approach to poverty reduction requires the development of a Learning Village. A Learning Village is a resource center that demonstrates how the five components of poverty can be systematically and effectively transformed into a sustainable dynamic growth.
