The International Encaustic Artists (IEA) is a professional artists' organization that seeks to raise the level of excellence in fine art encaustic work by providing global information exchange and raising interest about encaustics in the art world and with the general public. We offer regular group meetings where members share new information on techniques and exhibit opportunities and exchange information on the development of careers as individuals and as a group. Membership will provide access to online forums, mailing list, listing on the IEA website, inclusion in a jpg registry, invitations to display work in members-only shows, and the opportunity to achieve Signature Member status after being juried into three IEA sponsored shows. As IEA holds retreats and other gatherings, members will be invited to events which may not be open to the public. Other IEA events and exhibitions will be specifically geared towards the general public. The International Encaustic Artists (IEA) is a relatively newly formed organization, the seeds of which began the summer of 2005 as the West Coast Encaustic Artists. It is an official 501(c) California Non-Profit Organization and already includes over 75 members. Based on the enormous interest and demand, the organization changed its focus in late 2006 from a regional effort to international. More information of membership can be found here.
