We are a privately owned New Zealand company which was established in 1980 by professionals working in the healthcare industry. The core philosophy of the company from the start was to take the skills and knowledge learnt by the principals in their previous healthcare multi-national careers, and to utilise these to provide the market with a different supply option from a more focused, responsive organisation. This philosophy continues to this day. In 2008 the Board of InterMed appointed Nigel Arkell as an independent Chairman to increase the commercial influence on the direction of the company and in 2011 InterMed reached another milestone with the historical two family ownership being consolidated under the Weston family interests. In late 2010 a new CEO was appointed and the pathway for InterMed since then has been one of strategic growth and expansion. Since 2012 InterMed has acquired five companies which has boosted our portfolio and resulted in more diverse product offerings in segments of both the healthcare and other markets. In 2013 our Australian operation was launched and this business is now well established in Melbourne supplying all the states of Australia. Over the past 30+ years we have built a reputaton of being a provider of quality products supplied with exceptional service and support. In today's everchanging market conditions InterMed has continued to thrive and succeed. We look forward to the future evolution of our company.
