InterfaithFamily is the premier resource supporting interfaith couples exploring Jewish life and inclusive Jewish communities. We offer educational content; connections to welcoming organizations, professionals and programs; resources and trainings for organizations, clergy and other program providers; and, with our InterfaithFamily/Your Community initiative, coordinated comprehensive programs and services in local communities. InterfaithFamily/ Your Community Engaging interfaith families Jewishly requires three elements: a robust web platform, inclusivity training for professionals and lay leaders, and a comprehensive range of programs and services targeted at interfaith couples and families in local communities. Our InterfaithFamily/Your Community model, launched in July 2011, provides exactly what is needed: local staff who centralize all local information on a Community Page on our Network, train program providers, respond personally to officiation requests, and offer workshops for new couples to talk about religious traditions, and Jewish learning experiences developed specifically for people in interfaith relationships (including our Raising a Child with Judaism in Your Interfaith Family, and Preparing for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Your Interfaith Family classes). The first two-year pilot, InterfaithFamily/ Chicago, met all objectives; IFF/San Francisco and IFF/Philadelphia launched in October 2012; and IFF/Boston launched in October 2013. We have an ambitious plan to build a national organization with interconnected staff in nine local communities by 2016, with economies of scale provided by our extensive content, Network platform, officiation referral service, and training programs, workshops and classes. The InterfaithFamily/ Your Community initiative is the single best opportunity the Jewish community has to engage more interfaith families in Jewish life and community.
