Intercon Barcelona Information

Intercon was first set up in London in 1979 as the design arm of Intercon Ltd, a multi faceted group of companies with the construction company (Intercon UK Ltd) as its core business. Initially Intercon was the in-house design arm of the group and worked exclusively for this, in 1988 Mohammed Adib took over as managing director and Intercon started developing its own identity and capturing more and more direct design work, it split from the group and set up offices in Barcelona in 1993 taking on board Maria Escale as joint partner and specifically to develop the interior design work. The multi cultural team that forms the company is yet another insistence to their ever expanding global profile, where Catalan, Castellan, Arabic, English, Portuguese, Italian, German, French and Russian are spoken. This international base has helped further establish the ever widening markets that they are present in. Intercon through strategic partnerships is present in Dubai, Egypt, Almaty, Tripoli and Fortaleza. Intercon has, over the past 15 years, slowly begun to specialise in commercial interior design and specifically that of residential developments and hotels.
