InteractiveFunds was a startup out of Dallas, TX led and built by Randy Bullard, Ron Pruitt, Joe Mrak, Will Webb, Tom Cademartori, Kendall Ramirez, Brian Bleasdell, Dak Lyons and a handful of others. Out of some combination of luck, intuition, genius, ignorance and "not much to lose" we invented: the very idea and structure of a Unified Managed Account, overlay management including high-volume risk/tax optimization as an implemented service, and model-based operations between 3rd party asset managers and discretionary overlay managers. Yes... those three industry-transforming things, were 100% invented by this little company that became Placemark, that was bought by Envestnet.
