Our vision is an ‘inclusive and active London’ There are over 1.5 million disabled people in London. Three out of four of those disabled people are inactive, which is more than double the figure known for non-disabled people. The majority of those disabled people in London are inactive because they do not view activity as a possible lifestyle choice for them. Interactive exists to change this and build on the legacy of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games at a time when the benefits of sport and physical activity remain high on the public agenda. We are the lead strategic development agency for sport and physical activity for disabled people in London. We work in an approachable and adaptable way with sport, education, health and disability organisations large and small to support them to make their organisation more inclusive of disabled people and increase participation. We do this through: - Training and development - Capacity building - Business support - General information, advice and guidance We advocate disability equality in sport, we influence those who govern sport to view disabled people as equals and we provide strategic expertise and support to partners to help turn their commitment to equality into reality. We enable disabled people to view being active as a viable lifestyle choice and we are committed to developing sustainable inclusive sport and physical activity.
