World Centric began with a mission to reduce economic injustice and environmental degradation through education and community networks. Founded in 2004 by Aseem Das as a non-profit, he funded the organization through a small, online store promoting Fair Trade products. Realizing the contribution compostables items have to reducing waste, they were added to the store’s offerings. As demand grew for an earth-friendly alternative to traditional disposables, World Centric began to innovate and introduce our own products made from renewable resources and agricultural byproducts. We unintentionally became a leading supplier in the green packaging industry.Recognizing the power of commerce to impact the planet, World Centric converted to a for-profit social enterprise in 2009.
