IntegriGen is a BioSolution Designs company launched to advance the next generation of engineered cell therapies, beginning with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) within the broader DEB disease area. The company brings together experienced leaders in fibroblast therapy, cell and gene engineering, CMC, advanced biomanufacturing, and company development. Building on the field’s established clinical precedent, IntegriGen is pursuing a differentiated cell-product architecture that combines non-viral engineering, proprietary MATS™-enabled manufacturing within BSD’s broader Raptor OS technology system, and multigenic, controller-enabled therapeutic design. The lead program uses a patient’s own fibroblasts, engineered ex vivo and delivered locally to the dermis, to address the underlying loss of functional collagen VII caused by COL7A1 mutations. The therapeutic goal is to establish a sustained local source of collagen VII and complementary therapeutic effectors that can support wound healing and strengthen the dermal-epidermal junction over time. Rather than treating individual wounds repeatedly, IntegriGen’s durability thesis is that living engineered cells may provide persistent tissue support from within the patient’s dermis. The company’s near-term work is designed to validate that thesis through focused cell, animal, manufacturing, translational, and safety studies.
