Our founder received a call from the Director of Elections for a large county near Minneapolis, Minnesota. This election official was responsible for coordinating 2,000+ election workers across 400+ polling locations. Her problem was a common one: “There must be a better way than using spreadsheets and 3×5 note cards!” Could we develop a power toolset to solve her problems? That phone call sparked the creation of a group of election officials from counties and cities, large and small. The group documented election workflows and requirements for coordinating elections. Challenges for each step were identified. The resulting software solutions — designed by election officials for election officials — saved enormous time in managing elections. Modus Elections Software has continued to evolve over the years, helping teams do more with less, as election officials’ responsibilities continue to increase.
