Insurance Loss Control Association Information

ILCA was founded in 1931 and continues to be an organization comprised of insurance risk control professionals. Not widely known outside of insurance circles, Loss Control is a safety discipline that serves to protect lives and property while also helping businesses mitigate loss exposures. Utilizing a wide variety of technical skills, our members are knowledgeable in fire protection engineering, construction, workplace safety management, commercial fleet operations, product liability, and exposure control expertise for multiple lines of insurance policies. ILCA's primary purpose is to build on these skill sets and to promote our role within the industry. ILCA provides members with opportunities for technical education and networking with an annual conference (our premier event). Held in early October, the association hosts speakers covering current loss control and safety topics along with the promotion of soft skill developmen. Attendees and supporters are not merely limited to insurance risk control, management and underwriting, but have expanded to include service providers, students in safety curriculums and anyone having loss prevention interests. CEUs (1.0) are awarded to conference attendees needing CSP continuing education credit while members receive newsletters published throughout the year with articles from experts relevant to our profession. ILCA seeks and welcomes participants and new members, especially those entering our profesion and those who may not know of our association. To promote growth, we've started student chapters at select universities and colleges with safety curriculums.
