The Institute of Professional Legal Studies is the centre of excellence for Professional Legal Studies in New Zealand. It has provided the stepping-stone between University and practice in the legal profession to more than 15,000 students since its inception in 1987. The teaching staff is drawn from the profession. In particular, the instructors who teach advocacy are current or recent practitioners in the courts providing relevant and up-to-date experience and examples.
