BEST Zagreb is a voluntary non-profit student organization that provides the students of the University of Zagreb with a possibility of extra education in the chosen area of expertise, contacts with future employers, working in international teams, getting acknowledged with European cultures and developing an understanding for the cultural diversity whilst acquiring organizational skills. The beginnings of BEST Zagreb go as far back as 1998 when the students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture founded it. Thanks to further initiative, BEST Zagreb was registered as an organization in 1999. BEST Zagreb is active in most technical and technological faculties of the University of Zagreb and has become one of the most renounced local BEST groups in Europe. BEST Zagreb currently has around 100 members of which 50 are active members and 50 are alumnae – once BESTies today successful engineers. Constant contact with the alumnae gives us the privilege of knowledge transfer that is upgraded and successfully used. BEST Zagreb works in general groups (Fundraising, Public Relations, Human Resources, Information Technologies) and groups that deal with active projects. That kind of structure ensures the soft skills quality and the flexibility of applying them to our projects.
